31-05-2025-Alternative circular walk from Tzane
At the old fig collection point (yellow building
Next Saturday, May 31st, we're offering an alternative walk for Freewalkers who don't want to join the longer and more challenging walk of Perivolakia.
We'll meet at 9 am in Tzane at the old fig collection point (yellow building).
First, we'll hike up to Ag. Sotiri, about 4.5 km gently uphill on good paths.
There's fresh water available at the church for a banana break.
Afterwards, we'll continue through a valley and later through olive fields back to Tzane.
At the end we can stop for a drink together in a Kafenion at Petalidi.
The chronicle of today
27 freewalkers gathered at Tzane.
The first 4 km were easy uphill. Then we took a break in Agios Triade. Heiner played football with the village boys; the mayor was thrilled.
On the way back downhill we had a great view of the sea, the Mani Mountains and the cloudy sky.
Pleasant hiking weather.
A final drink in Petalidi, as so often: at the Vrisi (spring).
The next "smily walk" from Yamia to Chrisokilaria it's in planning
